Welcome Parents

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We welcome you and your student to a new school year!

Thomas Jefferson Middle School is determined to provide “Academic Excellence for All Students”.  To do this, our staff is committed to working continuously in providing a well-paced & well-rounded learning experience for every student.  Be assured we will strive to establish & maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing school experience.

We believe it takes parents, teachers, administration, and students working together to ensure their success. To assist our students in reaching their goals, we encourage you to keep an open and consistent line of communication.

This year Thomas Jefferson Middle School has three new administrators who will be meeting with parents and students to set clear and concise expectations for students in regards to discipline, academics, dress code, cell phone use, and much more.

Because we value parent involvement, we pride ourselves in providing an open door policy. We want to listen to your ideas, welcome your concerns, and answer your questions. Together we can make a difference. We look forward to working with you on making this year an incredible one!

Here are a few things to consider as we start out the school year:

  • Our expectation this year is no more than 5 days of absence; “All students - in school every day - all day"
  • Parent Involvement: If you’re interested in being involved as a parent please call and ask for more information on how to do this. (e.g., Parent Committees such as SSC or ELAC)
  • Back-to-School Night: scheduled for Tuesday, August 28th, starting from 5:30-7:30. Parents and students will be able to visit each classroom teacher (period by period) to learn more about the grade level/subject matter (e.g., classroom expectations, homework policy, curriculum & technology, class projects, and other important information.)

We look forward to serving you this school year.   Please give us a call at (661)758-7140 or stop by our office if you have any questions regarding your child’s academic progress.  (Look us up on WUESD.org)

Respectfully,

Danny Arellano
