Vice Principal’s Message

I am excited about our new school year and my new position as Vice Principal here at Thomas Jefferson Middle School and all the wonderful opportunities it brings. TJ has new and expanded programs like Visual Arts, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) and additional STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) classes; our athletic teams will continue to include two additional sport teams; Flag football and Volleyball; After school clubs like Chess, Audio Visual (AV) and the continuation of our after-school academic support program RISE Academy are included in this academic year. Further, we have six new teachers in addition to our wonderful teaching staff and one additional academic Dean to assist with educational goals and student achievement. These and other existing programs are a definite mixture of success and we are excited to be able to offer them to our students to enhance their educational experience and skill development.

With that said, this year has already started off with a bang! These support systems will assist us in reaching our goal of having our students’ career and college ready and prepared for success in this 21st Century global world.

A few of my goals for our TJ students is to ensure a safe, positive, and successful, as well as fun educational experience that will inspire students to want to continue to gain knowledge; as someone once said “Success isn’t just about what you accomplish in your life, it’s about what you can inspire others to do”. Therefore our students’ success is all of our success and I am looking forward to working with students, teachers, parents, staff, and the community as a TEAM.

Together Everyone Achieves More

So here’s to an inspiring, Awesome, successful school year at TJ.  Go Cougars!

Sincerely,

Ms. Monique Goodwill
