A very special THANK YOU goes out to Mr. Bridges the Coordinator of this years History Day event and his co-chair Mr. Meyer. Without their  diligence, hard work, effort and the support of our History teachers this event would not be possible.

Another special thank you goes our to Ms Stonecipher for the use of her classroom and to Mr Mildenberger for his artistic skills and advice.

The TJ band has had some excellent showings this year.  A short time ago our band traveled to Stockdale High School and placed 2nd place in our division. We were behind first place by only 2 points!  Mr. Willis is thrilled with the progress the band has made.  The band has it's annual program with the high school on 12/7 @ 6:00 pm.  It would be a pleasure if you attended.

Last week the SSA and advisers were trained on how to intervene, redirect, and handle conflict in ways that deescalate the situation.  There are a lot of miss conceptions about what a SSA does.  They are not tattle-tails.  SSA ambassadors are trained to take an active role in identifying and intervening with bullying, harassment, etc. To learn more about Safe School Ambassadors contact our counselor, Mrs. Contreras, elcontreras@wuesd.org

We had our first agenda check and only two students did not have their agenda with them.  No doubt that TJ students are preparing themselves for high school, college, and for lives as professionals.  Thank you to all the teachers for preparing the weekly agenda and to the parents for helping us build responsible and organized students.

Many students were able to observe the eclipse with specially designed lenses thanks to the science department and others.  Safety First!!! Through the lenses students were able to see over 75% of the sun get covered by the passing moon.  What a great experience.

It was great to see the students and parents come out today and find their way around campus.  A BIG WELCOME BACK!!! Teachers did a fine job of engaging students with icebreakers and getting students familiar with routines and procedures.  The students and staff did a wonderful job adjusting to the bell system failure.  Teachers were impressed by the student's sense of urgency to get to class.  Thursday should be just as impressive as today.
